Job Summary

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Information Officer, the Networking Services Manager provides management and guidance for Networking Services staff and student personnel via a hands-on approach. The incumbent is responsible for the planning, implementation, and maintenance of networking infrastructure to ensure the overall health, reliability, and robustness of the network; provides technical leadership and helps define job duties and responsibilities for Networking Services staff; and serves as the primary resource for various Networking Services systems, network security, and disaster recovery efforts.

Key Qualifications

This position requires a minimum of 4 years of experience in networking and communication services, along with 2 years of progressively responsible and applicable management and/or supervisory experience. Bachelor's degree in a computer related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience to provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Higher education experience is highly preferred. Experience with network design and support, as well as hands-on project contributions preferred. Advanced technical skills and experience with L2 and L3 protocols and technologies (IPSec, VPN, BGP, OSPF, AOS, IOS, QoS, 802.1x) required. Intermediate proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) required. Knowledge of Google Suite, VMWare and PeopleSoft preferred. The following vendor-specific certifications are strongly preferred: Certified Network Security Administrator - (PCNSA), Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), Certified Network Infrastructure Design Professional (CNIDP), BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Certified System Expert (ACSE), Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Certified Field Expert (ACFE).

Salary and Benefits

Starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and is anticipated to be in the range of $7,334- $7,667 approved a month. This is a full time, exempt position. This position is a member of the Management Personnel Plan and serves at the pleasure of the President.

This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 14 paid holidays are offered each year; 13 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.
