Job Summary

Reporting to and under general direction of Associate Director of EdEon, with additional work direction from the Director of EdEon and SSU grant-funded Principle Investigators (PIs), the Administrative Grant Coordinator is responsible for coordination of administrative support functions for a range of grant funded projects. This range varies from small grant-funded projects to large-scale, complex grant funded projects. Projects include activities in education, outreach, and research. The incumbent evaluates and provides recommendations related to operational and procedural matters and work procedures; coordinates and executes large scale, projects with broad, visible impact which involve overseeing coordination with other departments and research partners outside of SSU. Work involves identifying needs, planning projects, coordinating and delegating work and seeing a project through initiation, execution, coordination, implementation and evaluation. The Administrative Grant Coordinator performs a variety of administrative tasks in the day-to-day operations of the department office and serves as a central resource person to students, faculty, and staff, and the community.

Key Qualifications

This position requires a high school degree or technical/vocational program degree, and a minimum of two to three years administrative work experience involving program administration and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development of improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs. Previous experience in a fast-paced and complex academic office preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Intermediate proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) is required. Knowledge of Google Suite and People Soft preferred. Experience as well as skills in website development and desktop publishing is desired. Must be willing and able to learn technical software as needed and be proficient in navigating the internet and in the daily use of e-mail.

Salary and Benefits

This is a part time, temporary, non-exempt position. The CSU Classification Step Range for this position is $25.19 - $36.70 an hour (step 1 - step 20). Step placement will be determined based on relevant qualifications and professional experience. Step placement upon appointment is not expected to exceed Step 2 ($25.70 an hour). Reappointment to this position is dependent upon the individual's performance as well as administrative and budgetary considerations. The university reserves the right to terminate this appointment earlier than the scheduled expiration date.
